The Great Wall Sheraton Hotel Beijing (Beijing Xilaideng Changcheng Fandian), one of Beijing's first world-class luxury hotels, is no longer the most glamorous or elegant in the city, but still provides solid service despite appearing somewhat care-worn in some areas.
The hotel's location on the Third Ring Road (Dongsanhuan Bei Lu) can actually be an advantage unless all your business or pleasure outings are in the center of the city-taxis have an easier time of managing Beijing's increasingly bad traffic when they can take advantage of the relatively clear Ring Road, and the hotel is quite handy for getting to the airport.
In general, the rooms are on par with Sheratons around the world, though a bit on the small side. As for nearby entertainment and dining options, the bars and restaurants of Beijing's popular Sanlitun area lie just across the ring road.
The hotel itself features a quite good Chinese restaurant with a view-the 21st Floor Restaurant (the cuisine is more imaginative than the name). Semi-casual French and Italian options are also on hand and just around the corner you'll find a Hard Rock Café for burgers and casual American fare.
