My wife and I arrived at 双流机场 at 12:30 AM, two hours later than originally scheduled. We called the hotel once we picked up our luggage and the driver promptly arrived within 10 minutes of our call. The hotel was less than 8 minutes away from the airport. We really appreciated the free pickup, even though it was really late. There were some positives and negatives about our room. On the good side, the air conditioning worked great and we were able to get hot water in the shower. On the bad side, the room was only acceptably clean. As a Westerner that has stayed in several China hotels, Ive stayed at several pretty dirty hotels. For the price we paid (260 RMB), I was expecting a higher level of cleanliness than we experienced at the Heinl Hotel. Breakfast was offered from 7-9 AM,and it was the typical Chinese breakfast, including things like hard boiled eggs, rice porridge, and noodles. Nothing too special. Its worth noting that traffic in this area is horrible in the morning. We were going to take the 9 AM shuttle to the airport, but there was so much traffic that the hotel did not offer a shuttle at that time. Instead, one of the hotel staff helped us walk across/under the highway and find someone willing to drive us (it was a 黑车, not a real taxi). Because of this, I wouldnt recommend staying at this hotel if you are planning on leaving for the airport early in the morning. Or going towards the city early in the morning. Traffic was awful.
