Locanda International Youth Hostel (Gulangyu), It, No. 14, Gongping Road, Gulangyu Island, was built at the beginning of last century. The overseas Chinese residence is famous for its semicircular steps, square courtyard, north-south and Western culture. It is a historic building determined by Xiamen municipal government. In the 38th year of the Republic of China, the owner of the house, the Zhou family, went abroad, so the house was expropriated by the government. After more than 40 years, Xiamen implemented the overseas Chinese policy and returned the ancient house to Zhou's descendants.
In June 2011, Jutai Hongsheng, the grandson of the Zhou family, transferred to Gucuo to Chen, a doctor in Beijing. Hundred years of wind and rain, vicissitudes of life; Although the main body of the ancient house is in good condition, its appearance is gradually declining. The renovation of the court house includes the restoration of its original appearance, the reinforcement of the original brick and wood structure with steel-concrete frame, and the modernization of its function; Through the cooperation of many parties, it can be implemented.
In October, wooden boats and trucks, shouldering and hand pushing 300 tons, finally built a reinforced concrete structure. The whole house is supported by 25 strong columns, the original granite foundation and 18 brick external wall, and the ring beam, lintel and floor slab are poured as a whole. Today, the main and auxiliary buildings of pangshancuo are integrated, with lofts and balconies, covering an area of more than five hundred square meters.
